Queensland researchers are developing technology that could allow doctors to diagnose the flu and other illnesses via smart phones, Smart Company reports.
The software firstly requires patients to cough into their smart phones; from this point the sound of the cough is analysed remotely to help doctors diagnose illnesses.
Researchers claim the last 100-150 milliseconds of a cough offers characteristics capable of helping doctors identify ailments.
This latest development suggests a health related smartphone trend is emerging.
An iPhone and Android phone application called the Cold & Flu Companion has recently been released to help identify the geographic spread of illnesses.

Good advice I was more productive when I was a freelancer and the fear of not knowing where the next pay cheque was coming from meant you would work harder on sales and networking. You couldn't afford for clients not to have a reason to pay either so all work was completed to an excellent standard.
Unfortunately that fear has a lot to do with this as sitting in a job you can tend to cruise. I often employ proven freelancers as I know what they have been through and bring a higher work ethic to really prove themselves.
