More specifically, Burners-Lee has admitted to a US technology conference that the two slashes he decided to place in front of www addresses were a mistake, ACP magazine reports.
He told the conference the slashes “seemed like a good idea at the time” but that the web address system could have been designed without them.

He'd really be a genius if he could undo all that but all in all, we remain grateful for his work. How else would we know where to find that darn right leaning slash key?

400 Billion slashes later and he thinks he's made a mistake? What about the length of the page id in the URL to find out about this venerable man's ancient incident? As a hyroglyph "6a00d83452a06969e20120a6156055970b" would make an ancient Epytian proud.
