With the majority of job seekers now submitting resumes via email or job sites, you might think cover letters are headed for extinction.
Think again, The Age argues in a recent article on the topic.
It's claimed cover letters have never been more important as they have the ability to make a candidate stand out from the crowd.
Recruitment experts cited by The Age claim the cover letter's power should not be underestimated as they are, in fact, a resume in disguise.
When writing this letter, applicants are advised to present clearly articulated career highlights and offer good reasons why a recruiter should call them in for an interview.

Agreed ... it is concern when an applicant sends a generic or no covering letter ... they don't differentiate themselves
