In our increasingly eco-conscious world not having a 'green resume' could cost you that next job or promotion, The Guardian reports.
Research by UK recruitment website fish4jobs indicates a third of employers would turn down a job seeker because they had inadequate green credentials.
And it appears the desire of companies to employ eco-conscious people is equally strong in Australia.
Speaking to CareerOne, management consultant Caroline McAuliffe says most companies now also report on their triple bottom line, an indicator that includes environmental issues.
McAuliffe says job seekers with green CVs have an edge as they are seen as being capable of imbedding green values into the culture of an organisation.
If you're keen to go green, the Environmental Jobs Network - a not-for-profit organisation that connects job hunters to roles in the environmental sector - is suggested as a good place to start.

Interesting to know how to distinguish myself from actually being green or not and be able to have a Green CV...that would be my question?

Another green resource I found for job seekers was http://www.GoGreenResumes.com.
They let you convert your current resume into a website and have fully functional website templates for you to choose from. Plus, you can design your resume website for free, and then pay for the site when you're ready to publish it.
It's pretty easy to use, and people who visit your site can't even tell it's hosted by Go Green Resumes.

I hope your readers find this checklist helpful
Solar Fairy Lights Checklist
Check the grade of LED used to ensure your lights shine brightly at night – look for the description “ultra bright” LED’s.
Does the unit have extra features like a timer switch or different lighting modes?
Ensure your solar lights are powered with Ni-MH batteries which last up to 3 times longer than Ni-Cd (lead acid) batteries. They can also be disposed of more safely than Ni-Cd batteries. Ni-MH batteries have a “non-memory effect” which means they will continue to charge on cloudy days. The battery performance will not be diminished by partial charges as can occur with lead acid batteries.
Ensure the use of original solar cells & not fragmented pieces that come in cheaper models. This ensures consistency of solar cell operation & faster charging times enabling your lights to last longer.
Bigger is better for solar panels: look for 10+ solar strips to ensure efficient charging.
The solar panel should use EVA laminated encapsulation, which has strong UV-resistance and a lifetime of 10 years. Cheaper models often use an epoxy resin: average life span of 2 years. Check out www.solarpartyshop.com.au

The comment about Go Green Resumes really helped me!! If you want to get noticed so you can get interviews and eventually a job you have to check out this site. I got my resume turned into a web site that is my own to send out to anyone I'm interested in. The service at Go Green Resumes can be totally free INCLUDING the monthly hosting if that's what you choose. I couldn't believe how great my resume now looks and I didn't pay a thing to get my own web site. There isn't any catch, go and see for yourself: http://www.gogreenresumes.com
Good Luck!!
